Dear Participant:
We notified you in December that a few participants and employers had received questionable emails that looked like they were from the VEBA Plan. After further investigation, the emails turned out to be a computerized effort to send scam emails containing malware.
We take the security of your information very seriously and want to help you make sure it remains secure. You don't need to take any action, but please note the recommendations listed below.
Submit your claims online instead of by email or fax. Simply log in through our handy mobile app, HRAgo®, or at veba.org, and click Claims.
Use our online Secure Message Center instead of email or fax for all other communication, especially when it contains personal information. Emailing and faxing are not as secure. Even when encrypted, email is typically only protected while it is being transmitted. With online secure messaging, your communication and any attachments stay better protected in our system. Log in through HRAgo or at veba.org and click the envelope icon. It's easy and more secure!
Report suspected scams. With the rise and sophistication of scam emails, health plans are prime targets for cybercrime. If you receive a suspicious email that looks like it's from us and you suspect it is not, please do not click on anything, and immediately contact our Customer Care Center at 1-888-828-4953. We'll confirm whether a legitimate email was sent to you.
Protecting your information is very important to us. We continually evaluate data security safeguards and best practices. Watch for updates and more information about our privacy and security procedures in the future.
We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
VEBA Plan
