The Washington State School
Retirees' Foundation
The Washington State School Retirees' Foundation has been
established to support education, civic and retiree programs, projects and
studies for the benefit of retired people. The foundation is publicly supported
and is classified under 501c3 of the IRS code so that donors may deduct
contributions to the Foundation.
A long range goal of the foundation is to create a self-sustaining
endowment fund for the purpose of providing annual scholarship and research
grants. Avenues have been developed which allow any person, firm or association
to make gifts to the Foundation while at the same time benefiting you or
your family financially. In this way, you can give back to the profession
that has given you so much. A brochure is available upon request.
Gifts or donations may be made in the form of memorials,
bequests, contributions of cash, real estate, securities or personal property.
Gifts will be recognized annually and recognized in the WSSRA Handbooks.
This year the WSSR Foundation presented eight college scholarships of $1,200
each to outstanding high school seniors from throughout Washington who plan
to attend college to become teachers.
